Years ago when going to work one day in Vero Beach, Florida, I saw a black panther coming out of the brush on the left of the road. I slowed down to see what it might do and if it might come out into the road. The panther leaped into air and completely cleared the road and the guard rail in front of me dashing into the brush on the other side. The majestic way that it assessed the situation, determining that I was no threat, and sprung into action has stuck in my mind for years, and I decided to digitally paint this scene to capture it. Panthers are not uncommon in Florida but black panthers are quite rare.
